I don’t have much love for anything anymore.
I mean, I don’t have much to say, either.
It takes a bout of happiness after a long sadness to make one realize how empty they’ve become

My brother’s getting sworn-in to the military tomorrow morning, then later on he’s going to boot camp in Texas or someplace. I thought I’d feel something; sad as hell, or angry, but I don’t. Feel anything, I mean.
I just keep thinking about the first time I said ‘fuck’ and all. It was just a word, you know. I’d been sitting on the school bus on my way...
I have wanted to kill myself a hundred times, but somehow I am still in love...

There are at least 590 people in our general age-group out there who love them! But from another angle, I kind of prefer when they feel like they’re just “ours.” Do you know what I mean?
Oh yeah man oh man are we lucky in that way
With such a small community we’ve been able to somewhat avoid the whole elitist/pretentious deal. I like that...

i feel like american artists are regarded as a piece of history and are admired and saluted from afar but rarely get mainstream revivals whlist the british artists are “foreign” and therefore “new” and i don’t know it’s silly
Accurate
Though ’60s-’70s American groups don’t seem to have the same charm to other countries?
I wonder why...

Whenever I meet somebody who says they mostly listen to music from the ’60s-’70s, I used to get really excited but now I just sigh
Because 99.9% of the time they only listen to British acts from that era and the only American musician they know is Bob Dylan
I mean yes Beatles, Stones, Floyd, Zeppelin, Who, etc but
I wish Simon & Garfunkel would get their mainstream revival but...

he’s the best. i’m particularly fond of his rhyming “astute” with “institute” and “sunlight” with “fulbright.” also “flowing through the air” with “après la guerre.” smart guy.
And he’s still humble as hell about his songwriting abilities
Best guy ever

I think Paul Simon is the only musician who can put words like
bon vivant
syncopated
gabardine
crinoline
organdy
litany
paraphernalia
into songs and still have it sound natural

Just go to bed, now. Quickly. Quickly and slowly.

Please note: there was an error in this post where a random Simon-esque boy was misattributed as being the actual Paul Simon. That error has been fixed, thanks to Mariana who provided a bigger picture (literally) and yes

I wonder who Art Garfunkel lost his virginity to
I mean I wonder if she’s some accountant now or something and the only exciting thing that’s ever happened to her is having taken a musician’s virginity when she was young
And maybe she has all his records up in her attic and one day her kid found them and developed a love for him
But she couldn’t tell her kid the only...
